I think chickens are about the same to raise as cats and cats are easier to raise than dogs (had several of both dogs & cats). Although, I do wish the chickens were litter box trained and the cats didn't shed fur! Provide water with electrolytes to rehydrate. Dip the bird's beak into the water a couple of times and, if need be, help it tilt it's head back to swallow. Wait 5-10 minutes then repeat for the next hour or so.Chickens need extra protein to make it through the molt successfully. Hens usually stop laying eggs during the molt.
